Trees for Transition - Working woodlands for a sustainable future

Community Trees

M in treeOur long cultural association with trees is entering a new era where us ordinary folk can engage in caring for and planting the trees around us.

We need to re-weave our relationship with nature. Trees offer us a unique opportunity to do this - in our gardens, in our streets and parks, in our schools and hospitals, in our towns and the wider farmed landscape. Across the land people are learning to live with trees, in amongst trees and using bountiful tree materials.

Robin Walter has been working with the environmental charity Common Ground to produce a Community Trees Handbook to describe and support this emerging work.
